A Mother's Prayer
Dear Lord, I need your guidance
And your help to remain strong,
As I teach my children
What is right, and what is wrong
Although sometimes they hate me
When I do not let them stray
I promised to protect them
And I will ... in every way
Help me be a parent…
They don't need another friend.
Help me set a good example,
Before my journey's end
I am so blessed to be their Mother
But I am only human too
This world is such a troubled place
So I must turn to You.
The love I felt when they were born
Has deepened every day
Please keep them safe and happy,
Dear Lord I humbly pray.
When my time on earth is through
And they remember me
I pray it will be with love
And happy memories.
