Happy Mother's Day

It isn't just on Mother's Day
I stop to think of you.
Often without my bidding
Memories come flooding through.

A special scent, a certain song
A laugh out of the blue.
Trigger images of childhood
And things we used to do.

Making paper dolls ...singing songs ...
Mastering the crochet hook.
Coloring pictures for you to hang,
Learning how to cook ..

You taught me to appreciate
The beauty of simple things
To look for the Silver Lining
No matter what life brings.

Because of your example
I am who I am today
Thank you, and I love you.
Happy Mother's Day.
