Child of the Fifties
Child of the fifties
taught always to please
Thinking of others
Not of your own needs
A spirit as gentle
as the eyes of a doe
A heart soft and warm
as the moon’s golden glow
A Brook murmurs softly
yet ... sustains life
As you have in your role
of Mother, and wife
Your children have grown now
take your dreams off the shelf
Spread your wings and soar freely
its time to live for yourself!
